Where did you learn flash, did you use tutorials or something like that? I'm 14 (turn 15 in August) and can bend HTML to my will (get paid to do some sites in HTML) and have a fairly good grasp of PHP. I'm interested in learning to use Flash, do you (or anyone) have any reccomendations on where to start?

i'm 14, too. Since i was about 10 years old i tryed myself on flash 4 .. i read books and made tutorials and i had to follow one crule rule ^^ : learning by doing and doing and doing and doing again ...

ah and sorry for my bad english .. can't speak very well ! :-(

anorris, I don't know if it's the best place to start but http://www.ultrashock.com/ has some quite cool tut's.
http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/ is probably a better place to start if u don't know anything about AS, but if u can do PHP u will discover that they have quite similar syntax.

Your site look good nice animations and great design :)
But there are a few things I don't like:
- The 'solaris designs' in the top doesn't fit to the rest of the design because it has a totally different color then the rest. Try to fit it in the colour scheme.
- The 'intro' in the beginning takes too lang for what it is & try to use an other font there and add some stuff.

The rest is looking really good :)

I don't like the intro, there is nothing happening and it lasts a while, make it more interesting :)

The main page is a little like the typical clean portfolio, but its lacking a little cleaniness.
But my overall-impression is really good, keep it up :)

Learn the basics of flash. Buttons, Movieclips, and Graphic symbols & Timeline effects (motion tweening and shape tweening) also the basic AS commands. play(), stop(), onRelease(), gotoAndStop(), gotoAndPlay().
The rest of the other stuff of flash is just tricks in order to make the effects you want and make it look good too.

One thing though: Your text is blurry. Use a pixel font and pixel snap it to your site.

word of advice. We've all been at the stage where we were young and thought age mattered. IT has nothing to do with your art. All that matters is whether or not you're progressing in your ability. If you're not careful you'll end up using it as an excuse for not learning certain things or being good at certain things because you hoped it would be a shield against criticism.

very good work on your site. your sense of matching tones on the interior is excellent in the portfolio section and the music fits very well. on a personal note don't downplay your skills so much. anyone can see that you have artistic skills so there's no need to mention what you can't do.
