View Full Version : Character: Tortured
motenai 07-03-2004, 06:28 PM This is my last 3d Low poly model
It's modeled in 3Ds Max 5 and textured in photoshop 7
Polycount is a bit less than 5000 triangles
I inspired my concept to the Tortured Souls Series , action figures from McFarlane Toys.
I hope you like it :)

Here the link to a simple walk animation of the Tortured model.
I think you need divx codec 5.11, but i dont remember exactly what version of codec i used.
C&C welcome guys :bounce:

I think it would be neat if the organic parts of the character were more submissive. Almost as if they were a battery for the mechanical pieces.
Mesh looks good, though it could probably stand a little optimization. Texture looks fine as well.

I see a TON of wasted polys in those arms. Other then that, its a cool concept.

great concept.. and I really like your metal textures the organic texture should stand out a bit more though.. maybe some color variation (or texture variation like some veins in the back) and some specular to make it look kinda slimey.
the modeling could use some optimizing, but oh well..

is the mesh one solid object? It looks like the arms and the legs are clipping. If youre going to put this model in a game, it will look ugly when animated. Also, theres a couple spots you could optimize better.

No the mesh is composed with many separated objects because there are a lot of mechanical parts and thei are easyer to animate if the object are reparated...for example legs are composed from 3 objects each one.
Yes anyway you are right the arms have the most evident mistake...i need to correct the shoulder area.
But the pelvis area, where the body connect to the leg, i think has no much problems...i already animated that without any problem...till now

mmm...it should seem a tormented face i suppose...not a singer :)
I tryed to give to the second face (the one in the stomach) the expression of a screaming soul...something like that anyway...
