Welcome to the cgtalk sketch group.
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.
These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* 640 x 480 or 480 x 640
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" o plagiarizing.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!

5 minute sketch with charcoal pencil on paper. 20 mins colouring in Photoshop. Giggled and listened to 'Cake' throughout. Hope you can read the fine print!

a League isnt a measurement of depth in the title "20,000 leagues under the sea" It's a measurement of distance.
So "20,000 leagues under the sea" means the will travel a distance of 20,000 leagues whilst in the sea.

First time posting an image. It took about an hour to complete, it didn't really come out like I had imagined. I look all over for images to use, but settled on just going from scratch. It does look like alot of what is out there though based on the subject.
Photoshop was used, nothing but PS. I'm sure many of you are thinking that I went filter crazy... =)

I've been following the daily sketches here for a week now. Very cool forum and very inspiring. I've just recently dusted off the old tackle box of pens and pencils while attempting to get back in touch with my creative side. I've ignored it too long :).
Anyway, here is my attempt.
Photoshop, mouse, 45mins.

Telemaco- Your style is amazing! love the water tone.
Stephen S. - phantastic atmosphere and lighting, and attention to detail
Dargon- love the prevailing blue tone.
Garma- whoa! probably the best I've seen out of you! Beautiful painting.

Well, here is today's contribution. Painter 1.5 hrs.
It's too bright and soft for my taste.. I love the deep dark colours everyone else has going here.

Hoo! I love the designs on some of these submarines. Here's mine:http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v236/ilikesoup2/8f5fc615.gif
The fish are saying, "Let's get outta here before that thing pokes Octopus in the head and all Hell Breaks loose!"
About 1.5 hours with Photoshop, some Gaussian Blur and the Little Mermaid Soundtrack. (sigh) Yes, really.
Fun fact: 20,000 leagues is the DISTANCE that the Nautilus submarine travelled underwater, not the depth it sank to. (well, I thought it was fun.)

Here's my 2nd shot (assuming yesterday's shows up OK).
1.5 hrs
Photoshop w/Wacom tablet. (not terribly original).
Music: Jazz from the 60's Spider-man toon!
No points for me for originality this time around.
Really like a lot of the lighting in these. That's on my list of things to do.
Nice to see the variety too, especially in the last bunch of posts. Great work all around though.
FR32C - that makes me think of the old Disneyland Submarine ride for some reason. :)
