SidewinderX143 07-02-2004, 03:10 AM Well, this is the best model I have ever made. :)
As is, it's about 2300 tris. I'll give ya'll a wireframe and an exact PC when I clean up the mesh some (unseen faces, stuff like that)
I'd also like to thank Deleong from CZ Forum (http://www.czforum.com) for taking time to photograph is pistol for me!
and the images...

Great Work .... I only question one thing ... If upping the poly count to model all of that detail into the weapon, why not add a few more polygons into the handle/trigger/guard areas? As is ... the details in the other parts of the gun are outstanding, but it seems to me that adding more 'roundness' to the mentioned areas would make this gun even better. The problem lies with being able to easily see where there polys are since they edge loops and outlines are looking a bit more blocky than the rest of the model. Overall, it is great ... if you are looking to keep it under a specific poly count, you may want to take out a bit of detail (not too much tho) in other areas and add it to the handle, trigger, and trigger guard. Just my 2 cents. 8-)

well, you cna see the edges in the handle because I didn't include those in the smoothing groups. when I fire max back up i'll do that.
Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a first person model, so the hanlde/trigger will almost never be seen.
Very nice looking gun m8,
I know that over at Frag-Ops we keep the handle poly count way down, the hand covers it so theres no need to waste tris there. Another thing we do is cop the faves on the right side of the gun (if right handed), they arnt seen ingame either.
Keep it going, lets see a skin on this baby!

well, before it's popped ingame, they'll be a hand model (and when that's made, most the the handle will be deleted) Also, most of the bototm/backside will be deleted as well.

Agreed .. 8-) .. I am glad to see you thinking of poly count that won't be seen. 8-) I figured it was for a first-person game, but just wanted to be sure. It really does look good. Hope to see it textured too.
