My latest work, JC009, was created in LightWave 7.5 and Adobe PhotoShop 7. This is a fictional train that looks half diesel, half steam.

Nice job ! But the foreground is too blured, or must be a little more detailed, no ?
Good continuation !

I love trains. your image looks great but I would adjust the lighting so the really shinny piece doesnt get so much direct "sunlight"

hey, i like this one
but that dof is not ok, cause you will never have such a dof on this distance! Only in macro-views, like ants or little stil-lifes.

i was remembered on a work by Istvan Pely. look at his site:

thats pretty cool dude, is it functional??

the only thing i could pick up on was the metal over the cabin looks a little strange, kinda too straight forward, maybe coz it doesn't seem to be riveted on like the rest. like the look though.

you know what else is cool, i'm also a josh c from melbourne :buttrock:

I like the modeling on the train, though the texturing could use some more work, llike the bolts in the chest of the train, also the grey underpart isnt really improving the photorealism of the train. But if i dont look at photorealism i see a really nice train :) It doesnt matter the foreground is less detailed, it can only be good for the focus on the train itself. Maybe a bench on the station could be a good idea to make the scene full. Also it looks like you try to make it look asif its evening in the scene, with the colored light and the low angle of the light source. Though the sky is really bright, maybe some more color and less erm bright would do good. Maybe some blue in the sky would be good to contrast the yellow look of the train.

But i notice im criticizing too much now, its a finished work so you probably wont work on it any further. I really like your work man ;) good job !

nice locomotive! i think the environment is holding your locomotive back!the composition is funny. you've got the roof of the building lining up perfectly with the top of the locomotive, which is jarring. the foreground wall could use some more detail. the DOF is not neccessary.

the color scheme is not working IMO. the locomotive has a violet hue on my monitor. the building is orange and green. the sky is yellow. i think the pallette needs to be subdued, or limited to a complimentary, or split comp. color scheme.

anyhow, the reason i crit is because i think you locomotive alone is very strong! it deserves a better home!
