View Full Version : framerate messes up between Maya & AFX
the_gibble 06-29-2004, 03:07 PM I am experiencing this weird issue where I imported audio into Maya [24 fps]
animate to it then I rendered the images and tried to sync them back up to
the same audio in Aftereffects [24 fps] and they were all out of whack.
Any idea why this occurs?? The video finished much before the audio.

there are three frame rate settings in afx. when you crete your comp, in your preferences and project settings. make sure there all the same.

yeah- I just learned that today. I can see the reason to have two seperate lengths: the second so you can export at different rates but I can't see the logic in having a seperate length within the project window. Doesn't it make sense for the project window and the comp window to always be identical? Why would they have to offer different rates? Just seems unnecessary to me- but I am sure one of you guys will havea solid answer [or not- then its time we bug Adobe to make some changes! ;)

Select the footage in Your Project-Window and RMB and choose "Interpret Footage" (= CTRL - F)
AfterFX has a preset, which specifies the FrameRate of imported Image-Sequences. Itīs often set to 30 fps. Set it to 24 and everything should be fine.
