View Full Version : Cloth Sim for UV Unwrapping

Awhile ago I saw an example in max 6 where someone was using a cloth sim to "unwrap" a piece of geometry, kept pushing it out until it was completely layed out flat, then planar mapped it, and re-assembled the geometry to its original form. (A torso in this case, with pre-defined edges for seams)

I'm trying to track down this method of uv unwrapping, but cant find any info on it. If anyone is familiar with this technique, or knows some links describing this process, I could use some help.

Thanks in advance-
Rusty
