I'm a mech lover, and expecially of simil steam punk mecha.
I think the one in the motion picture Dredd is one of the best i ever seen.
I try to search about it for a while, and i really want to reproduce it in 3d. I want to open a collaborative project to try to do it.
Someone can try to do 2d art making the Model Sheet much detailed as he can, and someone else can try to model it, the better design would be a great art work. We need great work for texture, lighting and environment... i think i can try to do the 3d part of work over the "beast", but it would be interesting to see more people. It would be usefull for al the guy (like me), that want to try to do some mechanical model.
