View Full Version : concept commission piece - protective ethereal being

I'd like to commission a single coloured scene. My last character commissions attracted some good artists, who are likely to get future work, but for the moment, I'd like to try a scene piece.
This is of a young indian/asian girl, approx. age 20, standing (doing something) in the central frame, perhaps a little unsure of herself, but not scared. Behind her, perhaps even around her, or through her (or just loitering closely), is an ethereal/shadowy sentient species, which seems to have taken up a protective stance. There are no details as to the the look of the creature, but its likely to be humanoid, but definitely not human, in fact, its features are too 'whispy' to be identified, as is its form, but it appears to be two legged.
You can draw the creature in any way you like, but the key concept is the fact that it isnt solid. For dramatic purposes, you can even add long hair, or a mane, or some sort of membrane/wing/somethign else, that seems to be affected by a wind that doesnt affect the rest of the scene. The creature isnt menancing, just protective. The reason for this is that the girl (or young woman) is a rare human that has the ability to communicate with, or even see, these creatures and is therefore important as a conduit of communication between their species and ours.
The actual location is unimportant, and I'd like the scene to be low-lit.
If you'd like to draw a coloured/inked scene for this, contact me with an idea of a rate or timescale, and examples of your previous work.

Please visit www.d3lf.net/prodigal/ (http://www.d3lf.net/prodigal/) for more character description of the girl, Rani.

Dear D3lf,

I am interested in creating the scene for you. Here is a link to some of my past work:

And a quick sketch relating to your project, note, I would do many thumbs before working the actual piece:

Timeframe for the piece would be three days, and price is negotiable.

Sincerely,
