View Full Version : Architectural: Brownstone
ToddD 06-26-2004, 01:48 AM Well, I think this is finished:) A brownstone building made in about 4.5 nights of work time. Modeled in max 6, rendered in MR. I may be rendering out a night scene of this in the near future.
I hope you guys like it enough to comment.

Very nice! I like all those details and textures. I'd probably prefer it with a little brighter and warmer lighting (more like what you have there on the right hand side), but it's nice this way, too. :)

Well I adjusted a couple of things, warmed the color slightly, and added curtains to the door, the windows show better now IMO. PLease continue to comment.

Thanks Sue+Littleluk! I replaced the last render with 1 with the curtains a little curved, also tried to make them set back a bit more. Thanks for the feedback, keep em coming!

You're welcome, Todd. :)
I'm not sure about the curtains; they seem a little too symmetrically pulled aside now. The one on the left also seems a little too curved. I think that when there are curtains on doors like that there are usually curtain rods both on top and bottom of the curtains to keep them in place. So maybe they wouldn't move that much (unless somebody peeked out by pulling them aside - but maybe even then the curtains would pretty much move back in place because of the rods on the bottom). At least that's what I think, but I could be wrong... :)

Hey Sue, funny thing is I thought they should be straight, but they came across too linear, and undistinguishable. Someone in another forum suggested I try this, it seems to be getting a good response. While I feel they should be straight, they do show up a little better this way, maybe I will make them less symetrical. Thanks again for the helpful input!

The second is the best one:)

Really nice work, should probably add an air conditioner to one of the windows though.

well then - how about a pile of take out menus?
and a lazy cat in the window would certainly put this over the top...
