View Full Version : Fine panel lines in Photoshop
Stormy151 06-25-2004, 11:52 PM I am currently painting a texture for an aircraft, and would like some fine panel lines. The map right now is 2048x2048 pixels, at 100 dpi. I am using Photoshop 6.
Basically, I draw my lines with the pen tool, then stroke them with the Paintbrush. My problem is, if I stroke a line on an angle, it gets all pixel-blocky. I can eliminate this by increasing the brush size, but then the panel lines look thick and cartoonish.
Should I increase the size of the map? Should I be using a vector program so I won't need the antialiasing?

Hi!
At only 100 ppi, vector would be your best bet, because any bitmap diagonal will look jaggy, even with antialias on. Be aware that it may still display on you screen somewhat jagged, tho'.

whats the pixel size of your brush?! 1,2,3px?
I find too those stroking rendering ability of PS are not the best...it has something to do with the brush fallout around the edge, try control those, or even make your own brush at about 2-3px
