Hi all,

I decided to give something back to the community that helped me so much,
I put all my favourite lightingenvironments in here.

http://www.shademaster.nl/temp/basiclighting1.jpg

http://www.shademaster.nl/downloads/basiclightingv1.zip
(2.54mb. Cinema 4d 8.5 needed, if you like to use it commercially please mail me.)

The Radiosity showroom has my supra paint shader in it and the backyard has a procedural skinshader :).

Have fun!

Shademaster,
Very nice these will come in handy. I think this would be another good sticky thread. Lighting setups when if people wanted they could upload lighting setups or rigs.

Thanks again

Excellent! I'm new to 3d as well as these boards. I've been looking for something like this for a few days now, hoping to find 1 or 2 basic setups. Now here is all that an more. Thanks!

I HATE to complain about something free, but...

I seem to get error messages that things are missing, but when I go to update them with the files in the Tex folders, they're still black (meaning they're still not picked up). Am I doing something wrong? I noticed this on the outdoor and HDRI ones.

It's probably me...

Be patient, I'm very new to this. I do try to find the answer on my own before posting on boards. I usually learn a few other things along the way.

Anyway, I have found that a few of the lighting scenes are not working for me (ie GI Stochastic). My guess is that I need the Advanced Render package of Cineme 4d (only bought the basic at this point) to get them to work. Can someone confirm this?

Oops, duplicate post.

My guess is that I need the Advanced Render package enabled to access Radiosity.
Yes, that's correct.

Thanks all :),

Well I looked into the texture path problem but found no problems. I think that when you use version 8.0 (which can't read hdr files) you get the texture error. You will also need the Advanced render module to use the scenes that use radiosity, all the others can be used in the base package.

Happy rendering :)

i need some infos about your hd system since i got surprised to test your light setups on my comp.

for example the GI setup took me 1'43" to render.
And i have a dual athlon MP 2000+, 1GB RAM, a Geforce Ti4600 128mb ram.

What do u think?

I rendered them through the picture viewer, not the viewport :), that makes quite a difference.

These were rendered on a AMD 2800 with 512meg ram.

This is one of those things you normally hope to find in the Adventskalendar. So it's like Christmas in late May.

Thanks a lot!
