Feel free to critique/argue about the style, but the things I'd much prefer to hear about :

1. Faithfulness of profile sketches to original sketch.

2. How the model is currently comparing to both.

At the moment her hair is very place-holder (along with her hands and to a lesser extent, the feet) at the moment, hence the fact that it looks wrong/odd in the direct front shot. Any alternative method advice would be much appreciated. In the end I'll probably make the ends of each hair clump wide and use alpha maps if I can't think of anything better to do.

Same goes for the face.

Looks good - I would say you've stuck faithfully to your original sketches. The only crit I have is that her eyes are a bit angular at the moment rather than having smooth flowing lines. As you say the hair is a placeholder so I won't mention that for now.

No, please mention the hair! It needs fixing! Anything that'd help me getting it look like the sketch's would help. =) Like, tremendously. I'm not really sure where to start. I once tried modeling hair like that out in polyz (http://interactive.colum.edu/students/pmartinez/3d/Porfolio/capoeira.jpg) and before that I just did what I did now and did the Tecmo clump technique (http://interactive.colum.edu/students/pmartinez/3d/Porfolio/sit_down.jpg) (The hair would also have alpha maps on it, along w/ the dress)

Yes, the original sketch is mine. I might up a 2nd model up here by the end of the week if I can start working on it from another sketch.

This is fer a game project. There'll be two main characters.

With regard to the hair, I don't think the middle section comes down far enough over her eyes - in your sketches it seems to come down a lot further. Anime style hair translating into 3D is a difficult subject to get right. I suggest taking a look at Yamag's garage and seeing how he handles it. Might give you some ideas:
