I am doing a few models myself, as are others. It would really help if someone could supply some models. It would be best that they are in .max/.3ds format and around 6 feet according to max's scale. skinned does not matter since all animations will probably be custom made by me.
-thanks

How are you making a free game with an expensive tool like 3D Studio Max?

Haven't checked this out in a while, didn't realize people were posting, sorry all.
At my work, I have the privelage of using max, at home I do some coding, if you're worried about people trying to "steal" the models, it would kind of be hard as I have developed a custom file format. Almost all the coding for it is complete, probably within the next couple weeks, it should be finished with animation capabilites.
In regard to what type of models, both bipedal humans and some-what humanoids (to an extent. Not something like a mutated alien lord).
This is legal, don't see any reason as to why it wouldn't be.
thanks for alll the replies, will check more often now
