View Full Version : Proper HSV adjustment for textures?

Posted this in couple of other forums -> no answers :/

I wish there was proper HSV adjustment sliders built in in the texture nodes. Color gain/offset or color remapping aren't too practical imho. Is there a plugin for this?

For now I created my own (pretty messy) shader network to achieve the this. I added Hue (-180...180), Sat (0...2) and Val (0...2) custom attributes to the file texture node and connected them like in the picture below. The system works but I got like 30+ shaders I'd like to add this network to. I could write a mel script to do it all but before I start coding I wanted to know if there's an easier way...

(an expression would work but not with MR which i'm using :()

Since I got no answers here nor elsewhere I decided to write a simple MEL for creating the (bugfixed version of the) network below.

but you can try this script from Horvátth Szabolcs.

IF you are using MentalRay, you could always install the SIBase for Maya. It has a 'ColorCorrect' node in it that has full HSV control. :thumbsup:

Thanks a bunch. I'll look into those at some point. What's SIBase? Sounds like softimage stuff?
