michaeli 07-24-2002, 02:33 AM Or we have to use image lighting for fake HDRI and Chanlum plugin for SSS?

Seemed that the dynamics module has not changed yet?

Changes to Dynamics and Bodypaint will come next don't worry. We are all focused on C4D R8 right now.
as for the other two thats in the Q&A thread and I would ask to keep all the questions in there please. We need to keep this forum clean for other cncerns like modeling questions and images and anmations and such.

OK:beer:
As far I know... HDRI is already supported in Cinema...

is this right?
or is this "fake" hdr?
Well call it however you want... but it's HDRI...
I don't say that it cannot be better, but it's better than nothing...
I'm just asking, because I've never really investigated HDR... :D

Yet again showing lack of research VSLX, although you point out a great tutorial, you didn't even read it in the slightest. C4D does not support HDRI, R8 will import the image format and convert it, disregarding the light information, but it still uses plain old Texture illumination (the difference is typically miniscule anyways). This is a great tutorial on how to Fake HDRI so you not only have Texture illumination but some of the added lighting you woud get through an HDRI illumination.
So even in R8 it will not support HDRI anymore than the importing of HDRI images for use as regular images.
As for SSS, it will not be in R8 as has been stated numerous times now, but I do recommend looking at Chanlum and Vreel Luminacnce as both do a great Job of faking SSS very efectively and only fail in really extreme cases. They work amazingly for skin :)

Kai, you are so full of shit. Please from now on say that MAXON is focused on C4D R8 right now. You are not Maxon and you are not part of the programming team, and as far as I know you aren't their official spokesperson either. You are a beta tester for a week or so. Get over yourself.

Sorry MV your right its not my place to say, but as it has already been said in PF by a maxon representative I simply repeated it.
The manner in which I stated it though was wrong. my apologies :(
You handle things well kai...
I would have told him to shove that little rubber ducky of his strait up...
