I want to create grass that not only reacts to dynamic forces but rigid bodies as well - Ideally grass that upon contact gets bent and stays bent so that I might create footprints or dragging objects with believable results. Is there anyone here cunning enough to attack this problem?

Hey

This should probably work....the surface that the grass is attached to you could make a softbody with a low goal weight, and a conserve on the particles around .95 and then add some springs to the softbody, and make the characters foot an active rigid body. So when the softbody gets depressed by the foot the grass would move downwards as well. That is pretty basic though you may need something more advanced...

How are you making your grass? You could also try making the grass a softbody then it will react to fields like wind and still interact with active rigid bodies
