Are you just cel experimenting Gareth or do you have a particular use in mind for the bg,s? :) ....would help for me to be able to comment :D

Yeah, I am making a series of backgrounds for a play, "Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat". These backgrounds will substitute the traditional sets you have in a play. So each picture is a different scene. The look I am going for is a semi-cel shaded look. Halfway between that and soft falloff shading. Yeah so I hope that helps.

In the first pic youre foliage on the trees hangs to low.It seems to be about half way down the tree,which I may be wrong as I am not very familiar with palm trees but I think it would break the branches.
