The theme for this session is hi-tech manufacted objects, meaning any kind of tool, gadget, machine with a distinctive function (ex: telephone, gun, watch,..)and with a high level of technicity involved (for instance, a wooden spoon is OT). You can base yourself on a real world object or do a fantasy object (like a portable helicopter).

Focus on making the function of the object understandable.
You have 4 hours to work on it ; post a WIP image after 2 hours, and a final image consting of different views of the model + level 0 wires after up to 4 hours.

This session will run for 2 weeks (until monday 5 july ).

Have fun!

BioScan finger password scanner, this is the latest in technology for passwords, youve seen this in movies and other places, so i decided to make my own.
You can check out my refference Here (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/security/6518/) , but i actually wanted to personalize mine and make mine more complex so i added some features.

New one, a semi-glass hardware lock, I referenced off the old 3dsmax one I have laying around.

Another :)

http://www.artofinterpretation.com/images/cgtalkspeedsession-pencomputer-byrjt2004.jpg

The futuristic concept: it's a computer pen with a retractable full 48bit color screen. The clip doubles up as antenna for wireless networking. The P.E.N. is equipped with next generation thin client technology with a perpetual uplink to Internet3. The removable pen tip can independently capture and process handwriting strokes, while the end contains a microphone for dictation and voice recognition purposes. This can function as a regular pen too ;)

Once again, my Blender friends out there can find out more about the wireframe technique by clicking here (http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26144) (in this case I used the alternate Zoffs method mentioned in that thread).

alright here is my hi-tech monitor. the actual screen would appear to be just a pane of glass when off. i'm happy with the result. I had a little trouble with beveling...eventually got everything working with a total time of around 3.5 hours. and I'm not sure why the top of the right hand pillar isn't smooth...?

Techy Trashcan! It even has an antenna to tell them when it's full =P
At about the 1hr30 mark, just doodling this while talking to a friend.
Software used - Blender 2.33a

This is probably final, but I may (if I'm bothered enough) add rocket boosters/legs for the trash can to stand on...

And with a trash can this valuable, I wonder if they'll steal 'em? One man's trash is another's treasure *heeheehee*
