Hi,

I am mainly a plugin developer for C4D but sometimes I find the time to model some things :) worked on a female head today and would like to have some crits so I can improve it. There are no ears yet.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Ok, worked on the head a bit and added ears. I am pretty satisfied with it already (except of the front part of the ear) but I may not see mistakes as good as somebody else.

Thanks in advance for crits and help.

The head looks a bit elongated to me, it might just be trhe camera that you are rendering out with but have a look at the proportions again - are you using reference?

Do you mean the upper part? The proportions look alright to me but which area do you exactly mean? It might also be that the lower jaw might not be wide enough (so the elongated effect takes place)?!

Thank you for your help!

I think you are right, the lower jaw should definitely be wider, and the neck also, from the pic in the lower right you posted. The top half of the head does seem a bit tall still, but maybe squaring out the forhead would help with this also - in the 3/4 view below it seems to slope off too quickly, and go a little too far back. The profile itself doesn't look too bad though. Have a look at www.3d.sk (http://www.3d.sk) for a couple of example ref photos of female heads for proportion, there are some free samples which are a handy guide...

I will try to improve those issues.

Thank you for your comments and the link (already knew that one though :) )

Here is an update. Tried to improve the things that were mentioned.
What do you think?

Looks a lot better than the first posts, particularly if you compare the front shots. Might want to watch the jaw line, smooth out the kink slightly, and think about bringing down the back of the skull a little. She still has that certain character but much more realistic proportions, nice one...
