I have a creeping feeling 3dsmax5 will revive support for euler XYZ rotation controllers.

Function curves are nice, but eulers give me a headache.

I'm glad Unreal Pictures aren't bending to the Euler crowd.

Would like to see some basic animation techiques in it like squach and stretch.

It'll be interesting to see if NLA applies only to Bipeds or if it can work with any bone setup. Either way though, it's ridiculous having to pay an extra $1500 for NLA in Max when Lightwave includes NLA and only costs $1500 for the whole package.

So nice to see a press release so free from hype and so totally aware of what its competitors are doing. So nice to see that the word discreet has held so true to its meaning even. :annoyed:

hmmm.. they don't mention anything about enhancements to biped.
biped needs a serious overhaul..

like.. how crappy it is to animate a biped with a horselink..

missing finger, hip and lower arm rotation..

not to mention the annoying apply increment thing to move animation on a grander scale..

so much to be fixed..

What's a horselink?

Do you mean hip rotation around the local Z axis? An ulna bone would be nice, but you can get around that limitation by adjusting the link's twist bias in physique.

Can you explain "apply increment"? Moving a biped anywhere can be done quickly and easily.

@Nahaz
horselink = 3 limbs on a leg for example..

sure you can move a biped around.. but when it's animated.. it snaps back to any keyframed position.
unlike regular bones which stays in the new position.

so you have to use the apply increment feature to make it stay there..
(i'm a little rusty in CS... been a while.. maybe I'm not using the correct terms)
