Well I havenít posted anything here in quite a long time but last time I did I recieved some great C&C's. They've really helped my work. So here I am again. Iíve been working on this house render this week and Iím pretty happy with the way it's turned out. Obviously C&C are welcome. I'd also like to know what you guys think about the color styles. Iím leaning toward the buff color version (style 1) but the client has seen a house the style 3ís colors and loves that house. Anyhow Iíd appreciate your opinions.
Style 1 - High Res (http://www.thepixelartist.com/c2004008/finalimage-style1-hres.jpg)
Style 2 - High Res (http://www.thepixelartist.com/c2004008/finalimage-style2-hres.jpg)
Style 3 - High Res (http://www.thepixelartist.com/c2004008/finalimage-style3-hres.jpg)
P.S. There are several images showing the work process for this image the on my webpage. There is a link from the projects gallery. I know wires are a big thing around here, if you want one let me know.
Great work you have done with this,I want to live in that house.
The second one is my favourite colour wise as the colour is more natural and would compliment the landscape with it's brown leaves and earthly colours, but if the client prefers the 3rd one then go with that, after all "what the client want's the client get's".
Excellent work, and yes we would like to see the wires pleeeease.

very nice, what is this done with? i agree with jud too, i like the second one out of the three. the only thing that stood out when i first looked at it was the depth of field. i'm not sure what it was about it but something just didn't seem right, sorry i can't be any more help then that. the house just seemed a little too crisp compared to everything else maybe  not sure
nice work though, great model.

I agree with them, the second one is the best. The earthy colors are pleasing to the eye....but it the client likes #3 then you should stick with that one.

The first one fits the house best imho. :wavey:

I'll put in another vote for the second. I want to live there too, hehe.

modelling is good
i like the 2nd one.
the first one is a bit to one-sided for my opinion, b'cause the wall doesn't give me a good difference.
the 3rd looks a bit too girlie :)
so i think the 2nd is the most balanced one

i think like Grezdog,

I think you could pick any of the three, the differences are very subtle and will appeal to different people. For some reason the first and second appear to be minitures the second doesn't give me this feeling, I'm not sure what it is I can't quite put my finger on it.
Excellent archetechtural work by the way a great building that will look great under any lighting conditions.

Style 2 is the best... because its has most "natural" colors which fit to the house. Style 3 isn't bad either but Style 1 is somewhat too simple as it lacks color and contrast.
Those are just my opinions thought.

Hey gang, great comments and I'm loving your thoughts on the colors. I glad to hear the general consensus is for the colors of style 2. I tend to lean toward style 1 only because this is a (somewhat) Greek revival style of house and style 1 is the most appropriate with that style, but that said I like the color of style 2 the most as well. Since this is a typical American suburb bastardized styling (Greek rev meets French cottage really) I wouldnít lose sleep with it having style 2ís colors. Thanks a lot everyone!
jud: yeah I'd love to live there too, but then I live in a little 2 bedroom apartment and would love to live anything better than this :scream: I've attach that wire by the way.
sempiternal: House was modeled in ACAD, finished with Max 6, rendered with VRay 1.09, and final comp and vegetation was painted/photo comped in photoshop.
I also agree with the depth of field, it would be my critique if I saw this image for the first time as well. Its the result of the background image, at the request of the client, being the actual site and it was sent to me from the architect and of course is was best they had but was a third the resolution of the render. So I had to blur it some to remove the pixelation. Lucky this is a stylized render and can somewhat get away with it but it definitely loses some realism because of it.

Teh second rendering's materials seem more realistic in color. The first is a french white, but it appeasr to almost be untextured because of that. The red brick used in the last one has a lot of pink in the brick color. Is that the actual color of the brick they'd use?
Great modeling and lighting.

I like the second most. Better combination of colors, more contrast with the white windows. Maybe i would like the 3rd as well, if the bricks were more brownish. A small color correction would do the trick.

I think the white one looks the classiest. I want to move in. The second two do provide more contrast though. I could go either way.
