View Full Version : My 1st head

Hi all! I've done my first model with splines and figured to start with a head. This is my first attempt so some buggies! I'm using max 4 with it's basic renderer.

Now here is my major problem as I took max's suggestion to use the Oren-Nayar shader the skin is green in the semi-shaded areas? What can I do to correct this green? I've found it to be related to "roughness" wich is the primary reason for depth and softness of the skin.

Great start for a first head. One main thing that I see is the neck. It looks too wide and long. would also be nice to have a side shot to see proportions.

Thanks Stefan! Yeah his neck is sortof a "Bill Goldberg" spinoff but this is the bod he's connected to (another first). He's supposed to be a futuristic cop investigator!

Do you find Maya easier for organic modeling. I've been told it's much simpler to rig and setup than max and now that it's cheaper i'm even more curious?
