View Full Version : Convert Splines to Poly ?!?!
ZenMaster 07-23-2002, 03:11 AM I am trying to CONVERT SPLINES TO POLY. Till now i had no success.

Here's what i get! Is there something i have to do ? Close all vertex or connect them ? the order i created the splines?
Any advice ?

hmmm mayby im wrong but i thing you should first add a surface modifier to your splines and then convert to poly

I don't know of anyway you can convert splines to Polys per se in the manner you want. Using the surface modifer, you can create patches, however you must snap all your end spline vertices for that to work.. see help files. I would have thought that the easiest way to produce the shape shown would be to produce it using patches as mirrored halves then welded together. In theory you could create faces manually from those splines but it might be rather painful to do. Hell you could even in theory do it with Nurbs.. but this is Max. :p :)

i came to the same conlusion too. Finish the splines to make it work with a surface modifier and then, convert to mesh or poly.
