This is just a little sketch I did. I haven't been drawing for a while, and thus there's some things that's not entirely right. The legs are too short an the chest needs some adjustments.

Would it be worth coloring?

It's not that bad, but you used a very thick pencil or was it carbon? chalk? Anyway, it's a bit confusing expecially on the face area. It would be nice to see what he's hitting with his sword.

It's a good rough sketch, but needs some touching up. You mentioned the chest -- since he's a bit stocky you could merely erase the definition and shade accordingly. Keep in mind that with his hips in this position, his torso will have twisted from right to left in performing this sword stroke. There should be "twist marks" on his left side. The toes on his left foot don't look properly aligned. Legs look good except that his calf muscles look like they extend too low and shouldn't be so rectangular.
Hands and arms look great!

If you're going to add color I suggest adding it sparingly -- a transparent layer starting with the pants and the ground, see how it goes.

Barbarian or ronin samurai? Sword looks like a katana from the hilt.

Thanks for the reply! I'll probably make a new one if I find the time, bearing in mind the comments you gave me. Mellon: as it was done in a free moment I just grabbed the only pencil available... a 3B!
I was'nt able to draw the thing he hits, because I ran out of paper there :) I had an axe in mind actually, but some of the wooden end was lost in scanning.
