View Full Version : Hologram Texture ?
TheRealRaziel 06-15-2004, 01:13 PM i'm trying to create a sort of hologram texture and i got the color right and the fadding at the top (think starwars hologram) but it's just missing... well the texture of the hologram :P now it just looks likea gradient :S
throw me a bone here :D

Without seeing your problem, all I can suggest is that some holograms have an obvious separation between colors. It may help to offset the color channels slightly. They also tend to have a really small depth of field. Here's an anaglyph of a hologram.

But if you're going for the Star Wars projection kind of look, then you'll want a grainy video kind of look, with video-style artifacts, like rolling and skipping and registration jumping. SOme images here.

i'm trying for the latter, have it real grainy looking i figured a noise map for starters but i ain't good enough at texturing to know where to go from there, as for a screenshot.. i kinda left my memory pen in college :cry:

i found most holograms in movie's game's what ever are ether 3d models with a added glow and transparence or a particle
