These robots are part of a storyline I'm developing. I don't know how to animate nor have a decently powerful computer to carry out the task so I just rig and archive my models.

The character is Munkeybot. I've been working on his head for quite some time now but it's not ready yet. His vehicle was modelled for a spaceship contest. It took three afternoons of planning and modelling, roughly 6 hours to complete.

I have updated this model. The "ankles" are not so thin and weak as they appear here. I plan on working more on the lens. It's main purpose as a mobile memory unit is to store and transfer infomation, it also acts as a video recorder and emitter.

This guy is missing his hand and feet textures. I made his texture using bodypaint. It was my first attempt at texturing with the program. His form is based on a cartoon from nickelodean. I've been slowly evolving him away from the character.

Here's a shot of Munkeybot.

Whoa!!! wanna know something kinda funny and strange?? You’re the main supplier of all my 3D skill... You see, I was browsing through a gallery type message board and was quite impressed by your models, so I saved the pics to my computer. I spent countless hours trying to copy them with no avail, but it did give me a good basis for modeling experience and for that I thank you my indirect teacher :) Nice to actually meet you *me shakes your hand*

–lol, it’s a small c4d community after all, ndat

I really love the style!

Looking forward to any animation work featureing these guys!

Ethan, animation is NOT all that hard.

It's mainly about patience and persistance, like modelling only moreso.

Very good stuff Ethan. I like the design of munkeybot an mmu especially. Good lighing and texturing. Do try some animation on them, I think we would all love to see them come to life.
