View Full Version : Tutorial needed: Good blood splatter effect

Hey there. I looked for quite a while and couldn't find any tuts on this. I am in need of a good way to create a nice thick blood splatter effect. Basically imagine a very quick head explosion.

The only catch is I need to use standard MAX plugins. I'm finding super spray to be a bit too limited. I dont have enough control over the fading out and the facing of the particles. I want all particles to face my camera, and I'm not sure how.

Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated!

Facing particles is just a click away my friend, it's under the 'standard particles' ( other options :meta-particles and instanced geometry).

CaneToad the animation which i think is featured on the CgNetworks site has a nice blood and guts Splatter effect.

When the Toad gets run down by the Lawn Mower.

Have a look at that, might give you Ideas.
