Hello

I want to create a sphere that opens up and transforms into a plane.

How can I do that?
(In Maya 6)

Have you tried blendshape between sphere and plane with same topology?
should work simple like

you can use clusters to create the appropriate movement or even rig the sphere. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to make sure the sphere is open otherwize it's impossible.
