Heres something I've been doing the last few days in my spare time - Its a Marauder from RoughNecks

No, its not accurate to the TV series - Its mostly based on the design model sheets that you can find on the Photo's section of the 'Tophet' DVD. I did it for a bit of fun, and cause I always wanted to model one...

Will I texture it? Not sure yet... But its been a blast making nurnies!

Enjoy!

Kev.
PS. Sorry for the image quality - with only 20k on CGTalk, it meant I had to crunch the jpg severely to upload it here.

It is looking good. Could you post and Concept Art photo also. I dont really remember what they look like off the top of my head so it is kind of hard to give you a detailed critique. But for what I tell it appears to be a great start.

I don't think due to copyright I would be very popular with Sony if I started to post up design sketches grabbed from their DVD's! :D

However, there's an action shot in the gallery, page 5 on www.roughneckchronicles.com of this weapon in action if you want some reference...

I wouldn't compare it with the actual show version - Its not the same (and its not supposed to be - This was more a bit of fun then anything) - Specifically the cockpit is completely different compared to the original... If I feel the urge, I might later blow it all away and build something more accurate, but I'm strangely fond of the inset canopy and moulded 'cheeks' on the front... ;)

However, please do post feedback if you have any - I'm always keen to hear any suggestions that can just help me improve...

BTW, there are some bigger and better quality images of this vehicle on the Hydora DVD (I grabbed the original ones from the Tophet). Should have gone to Hydora first... Ah well...

Anyway, I quickly roughed out this 'new' cockpit which is closer to the actual vehicle. I'll post an update soon and see if this works better... Though I've been getting fond of my 'puffy cheeks' and sunken cockpit on my previous image!

Cheers!

Thanks Tom! :)

Here's an update test with the new cockpit in place (again, apologies for the fuzzy image quality)

Hmmm... Anyone wanna give me their thoughts on this? I dunno - I sorta got used to my original, but I think this works 'better' as far as giving it a more mechanical look...

Cheers!

Kev.
