Bullet Tracer affect in AE OR COMBUStion, i thought that i would ask on this section first becuase i know after affects a little better than combustion(a lot better actually). I am making a covert opps movie over the summer, we are using fake guns so we need some kind of effect that will make the shots looks real(possibly a muzzle flash and most importantly tracers, for the big 30 caliber machine guns) we will not be firing real shells and this is why i need to know how to make guns looks like there really shooting bullets in either after affects or combustion 3. Sorry for this newb question but i cannot find anywhere how to do this.

PS. one thing that makes this kinda tricky is that there is nothing comming out of the guns to track we just have a point where the bullet starts(end of the barral) and a point where it stops(a persons body) and i need some kind of system, possibly by hand wehre the lines or what ever(for the tracers) know in what direction they are going in as in all axis's. anyway i would appreciate any suggestions or pointers. thanks :)

Muzzle flashes are doable in 3D with some noise/distortion type effects over a cone or similar shape. You need to adjust the lighting in your shot.
What are you going to do about the lack of recoil?

Well with the recoil, we are planning on either using guns such as airsoft mp5 with blowback feature and for the semi auto guns we will just try to simulate the recoil. but the reason that we need tracers is for the 30 caliber machine gun that takes place in a field. So he is shooting over a long range and i think that tracers are needed. what kind of program shouldi use for this? thanks for that suggestion about using 3d for the muzzle flash
