View Full Version : Vertices
turtos 07-22-2002, 09:49 AM I have a problem with vertices. When i make a torso from a box, I try to shape it but along came more vertices which made my model more complicated and messey. Is there a way to go around these vertices or how do i see these vertices? :hmm:

Try to get the basic shape first (use polys). Then add more edges when you need details.
Install MeshTools and csPolyTools plugins - they will help you be more systematic and think in terms of volume rather than vertices. You'll need to use edgeloops, edgerings, move vertices along normals and stuff like that.
Watch all the screengrab videos you can get, especially from Mirai people like Bay Raitt and Martin Kroll ("ambient-whisper") - try to apply the same principles.

the Meshtools & CS Polytools are probably two of the best (they are scripts) it makes any kind of poly modelling a thousand times better... :)

There's a readme file in the zip file. Either in a toolbar or in a quad menu. Or both. You know, customise ui > toolbars > make new.
