View Full Version : Entropy: virus or plugin?
samhodge 07-22-2002, 07:06 AM Hi,
we have some files here at work that once used an entropy shader or two, now the files, without the materials applied, have a whole heap of entropy properties attached to the objects.
There doesnt seem to be anyway of getting rid of these properties short of collapsing the object and merging into a new file.
in the words of leia "help me your my only hope"

I would say your best bet is to contact the maker of entropy, just a thought. http://www.exluna.com/:beer:

I think it's more a max issue than entropy.
Even though I've never tried Entropy.
Most of the time when you use plugins during the creation of a scene those plugins seem to 'engrave themselves' in the scene/objects...
Very virus like I must agree with you.

Has anybody used entropy and experienced the same problem that I have?
I know that other material plugins can cause problems but once you remve the materials the problem goes away
entropy adds a whole heap of entropy properites as rollups to the bottom of the modifier panel and there is no way to access these properties via max script so there is no way to delete them

A freind of mine had the exact same problem. To work with his file we eventually had to have him export out the mesh as .3ds *shudder* not fun at deadline time.

well my solution of collasping ot the modifier stack result and then saving selected and then merging into a new file seems biut better than .3ds but it does mean that all your modfiers are history.
I cant beleive that it has been two weeks without a reply from exluna

Megaflaizer, isn't that for removing blur plug-in attributes? Haven't gone to look, but I do remember something like that, I thought it was just for the blur stuff, could be wrong though:beer:
