A friend of mine asked me to draw him a portrait of one of his friends. since i just bought my wacom piece, i thought it'd be a good idea :D

so here i go.
here's the reference:

i did the sketch:

then i started airbrushing the fine stuff :)

i was kinda busy lately so i didn't have much time to work on it. but this afternoon i managed to find myself some time :P

how do you guys think of that? i concentrated a bit more on blocking out some of the clothing and the basic shape of the face against the hair

I think it's fine to block out stuff, I do it myself! This is looking really good, and I can't wait to see more updates!

i arsed myself to work a bit more on that drawing, so here's my current state. i work very little at a time because i do this on my free time and usually i'm doing more than one thing at once. but nuff talking. heres more:

the blurry hair is a separate layer just to give me notion of what black hair would look like contrasted to the white skin.
it WILL be changed later on :P

looking good, but i think you've stretched the face a little bit compared to the reference... vertically between the mouth & eyes.
