View Full Version : Delete Surface Names?
Willax 06-11-2004, 06:54 PM Is there any way for me to delete surface names in the surface editor? I have searched this forum and the manual and not been successful in finding an answer. I ended up changed a lot of surface names and now I have double what I need and would like to clean up a bit.

If there are no polygons assigned to a certain surface, it should go away next time you load the object. To be sure that there are no polygons with the surface, open your polygons statistics window (press w and get in polygon selection mode), select all your layers, click the triangle by 'Surf' in the statistics window, and find the name texture you are trying to get rid of. If there is a number next to the name, that surface still has polygons assigned to it. To find them, select the surface and press the '+' next to the 'Surf' row. This should select all the polygons that still have that surface on them. You can now give them the correct surface or delete them if you don't need them. If the surface you are trying to dispose of has zero polygons attached to it, you should be able to save and reload the object and the surface will go away on its own.
