Maybe it is easy to use some Nurb apps to make this model, but can a poly method do this?
Anybody can give me hint to use C4D make this model smoothly?

Your going to have to use subdivision to keep it smooth and perhaps use a boolean to get the indent. Im not sure if it’s the right way but it will work :) hopefully...

Booleans are not necessary at all. look at this, you'll find something useful

That looks almost exactly like the scooter I modelled a while ago. Send an email to support@maxoncomputer.co.uk with a quick note and I'll forward the mdoel to you.

Hi,

you can do that very fast and easily using C4D's subdivision surfaces (HyperNurbs). Play with HyperNurbs for a while so you can get the feel and you'll see how easy it is.

I can make a small tutorial on how to model that piece if you want it. Just let me know your mail.

YOu want the tutorial, well here is the model and I'll do some pics if you want, or you can talk to BRY as I don't have a lot of free time. but I think this is basically what you want :) there are some bugy things in this model as I whipped it out, but should suit you just fine, and I cheated on the curvature by using a deforemer, but you would simply place that deforer as a child of the polygon object (not the hypernurbs like it currently is, and then current state to object the shape :)

I used no plugins, though select plus would have made things faster but I didn't want to do it in a way that would require any plugins. Only took about 8 minutes- 12 minutes, so shouldn't take you too long, I think Bry should be able to guide you in a way to do it or guide you through mine.
http://cgi.third-era.com/~kaiskai/cgtalkthingy.jpg the C4D file :) (http://cgi.third-era.com/~kaiskai/cgtalkthing.c4d)

and mention if oyu have supernurbs or not, as I know this could be done even easier and faser with SDS weighting of supernurbs, which I don't have :( (cheap plug everyone should get it unless you are as desperately poor as me, and have experience with modeling weight control as well.)

hey no problem, you caught me in a I wanna make something fast mode, and it loked like a fun quick little challenge, now if that is the exact object you needed, I would suggest reworking it or even better buildin it again yourself, but definitely tweak it as it has some buggy areas. I started with a plane 5 high 10 wide. slected the middle the rows, nine polys wide extruded down, the rotate ever so slight, ans then scaled to make the diagonal shape. Can't think at all now, I selected the middle row and pushed them in a little smidgen more to keep a smooth curvature in there, and at the end of the diagonal I selected the three polys and extruded them one make the deep indentation . there is more to it but my description is rushed already and making little sense. PLease do try to get some help from Bry or someone else on how to do this sorta thing yourelf too though as it will really help. (no one comment on the amount of nasty tri's in there, I spent no time optimising really ;/)

Thanks again to you all!

imashination: I've sent you the mail and got a reply that "Your Email has been placed into a queueing system which will be handled by the support team as soon as possible."

Kaiskai: sorry, many friends outside China told me that they could't reach sohu.com, although it's one of the biggest portal in China. You can try the address below, thank you for your help.

If there's still a problem, you can try this mail address: michael@kaicomm.com

Now there is an address I can remeber and like, @kaicomm.com, did you make this up for me personally, or did you have this before? Anyways, I have added you to the ADDy book, but all that you need, that I have to send is in that file there. :)
