I can see this post receiving negative feedback, I'm gonna plonk down some cashola when it hits the UK cinema, and then I can judge it...
Predators extending claws are frickin' eeeviiillll...

look ok... I'll see it regardless.
question ... who would you rather be done in by .. the Predator or the Alien ?
me .. Predator.. don't hafta worry about sometimg popping up outta my chest.
i like the original cutting disc design from predator 2 better...

yeah, I'll probably see it too. but unless they just have really terrible guys making their trailers, I'm not too sure I'm gonna like it... bummer.

As Harry off AICN advises... it looks much better if you turn the sound off...

Reminds me too much of Jason X. This is not comepletely a bad thing. but...
My guesses:
1. Bad Acting
2. Vanilla Cinetography. (i.e. doesn't try to get audience immersed at all...)
3. cg used to 'look cool' rather than add to the story.
In other words... the same stuff you can see on some 'made for Sci-Fi Channel' TV movies.
I'll wait for NetFlix...

Hopefully it ain't another Blade 2.
It could be really cool, or really, really bad, and its *nice* that they give away the ending of the movie (explosion probably caused by self-termination like in Predator) :hmm:
Who said that was the end of the movie?
Emmanuel
06-11-2004, 05:37 PM
Just a wild guess, movies either tend to start or end with an explosion.
I think it looks awesome. I really look forward to it as long as thats not the final sound track. I'm sure its not though because I remember reading an interview with Anderson and he said he's going to use music similar to the first aliens. Who knows though.
Well it looks a helluva lot better that Starship Troopers 2, so in that respect, it looks good.
I don't understand why everyone has to be overly critical of movies like this. Just watch it and have fun, is that so hard?

...because we like the idea and hope Hollywood doesn't screw it up by paying too much for the cg, too little for the screen writing, and using nothing from the Alien and Predator films other than the characters.
That's all we ask,

I hear they're actually mixing that song with "Who Let The Dogs Out" for the second AvP trailer.

I worry that they're aiming for a PG-13 rating for it . . . can anyone confirm/deny?
edit: just read on another forum that the movie's distributer initially requested this, but was talked out of it by the director. Good for him, if that's the case.

Maybe they should have paid the guys that did Batman: Dead End to do this movie. Hey, I'll go see it regardless, but BDE was pretty kewl.
Oh yah, and any music from Crowbar will do...

Predators have dreadlocks, therefore ragga is clearly the way to go on the soundtrack.

This soundtrack will also feature songs by everyone's favorite rock group, Nickleback.

Oh yeah! I can hear already, UB40 singing " But I can't help, falling in love with you" when that baby alien jumps on the predator's face. :D

cool, so by your logic Jason and Freddy are skin heads. So that would make the predator a sworn enemy of the faith..... could this equal sequel?

Don't let the masks fool you. The Predators ARE Freddy clones.
Garfield vs Stewart Little!! :buttrock:
Seriously ... I'll see this one on DVD. I haven't been impressed with either franchise since the original releases. Too many sequels and crossovers lately.

That trailer was specifically created for the MTV Movie Awards pre-show, so that's why it has those trendy guitar riffs in it.
Not that it's any guarantee the actual movie won't have the latest and hottest of the wannabe metal bands playing on the soundtrack.

they had a new trailer in front of riddick, showed more then this online trailer, and I don't think there was the stupid metal playing in the background, but i could be wrong.

Yeah, that trailer was pretty kewl, got me feeling kinda warm and fuzzy. But I really don't like the idea of the whole movie taking place in those catacombs, I hope it's not like that, and I definitly didn't like the lighting, there was almost no color to it.

yes movie is in modern times which means when the first aliens story startsa it is wrong cause it aint a new species..... now i for one dont plan on seeing this movie.... i like movies and all and no i dont go by the effects i just see no point in the crossover.... it is just a stupid thing that hollywood thinks and has convenced the crowd they want to see... like freddy vs jason.... superman vs spiderman.... wwe vs wcw ...... hulk hogan vs the rock ...... in the long run they all suck ...... dont waste your money

Yeah, saw the new AvP trailer in front of Riddick this weekend and thought it looked ok (I said WTF at Lance too). Personally I plan to "waste" a few dollars on this one just because. It's Aliens and Predators after all. Usually I identify which movies are good and bad through Rotten Tomatoes. If the critics say a movie is good, then I go in with high expectations and am usually harder on them. If they say a movie is not so good, I throw my expectations out the window and go to relax and just have a good time since I like going to the theater, especially in the summer when it's hot out and nothing good is on TV.

why did they have to ruin it and put humans in the mix?????
The original teaser made it seem like it was going to take place before all the movies and just be a "Hunt" where a young predator has to hunt an Alien for his head to become a man............now that would have made a kick ass movie......why add humans????? sad. :(

It would have made a great 10 minute short, but the majority of people would have quickly got bored. Neither aliens nor predators are given to large chunks of dialogue, and I reckon I'd find even 15 minutes of just predators and aliens fighting/hunting boring. It is very rare that a film can be interesting enough not to need humans (or anthropomorphic animals) for the audience to sympathise with.

Why couldn't they communicate in wierd Predator/Alien speak? Would have made for the need for creative individuals.....but I'm still one that thought Dinosaurs would have been better had they stuck with the none-speaking script.

Uh.... you're really not convincing me here....
I suspect you might be in the minority on this one (although I'm willing (but not expecting) to be proved wrong)

Why should that be the case? They never said it was an entirely unheard-of species in Alien, and Weyland-Yutani seemed pretty eager to get their hands on it... a nice theme that was continued ever less subtly in the following films.
Lance Henriksen is playing Weyland, as in of the company that makes all the robots...
