Great site but why did Pixar change the name for the French release? Does les incredibles have some negative connotation in French? Has there already been a les incredibles? I'm sorry for my french but what does Fleche mean? Is it the same as Dash or did they change it to match the animation.

Incredibles mean nothing in french.
This word does not exist.
So , they should maybe call them "Les Incroyables"
I don't really understand why they are the indestructibles now.

I don't know, Pixar seems to be losing it in the humor department. I thought Ice Age was a lot funnier than Nemo. Scrat is one of the funniest characters ever made :)
This seems to be a lot like Nemo, joke wise. Forced humor, predictable drawn out jokes.

you are out of your ****ing element nocturn!
each to his own....nemo wasnt that great a pixar movie (but a lot managed to get a seat on the best pixar film bandwagon), i sit it along side bugs life as equal last...that said i saw the trailer for monsters and thought it looked a little bone, then i saw the film and thought it was the mutts. So i've learnt not to judge pixar's movies by trailers.
Now if we can just get a decent release date over here, i wont get distracted before seeing it in the cinema. Luckily it looks like we only have to wait for just under a month for the reels to float over the pond.

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm a bit confused about the plot of this movie.
The teaser implies that the story is about a bunch of over-the-hill superheroes trying to save the day while overcoming their receeding hairlines and sagging bellies.
But the trailer implies that they are all young, verile superheroes. What gives?
Is it a combination of both?
editorial note:
To those who didnt think Monster's Inc was a fantastic movie, and that Nemo was lame---It might be a good time to find a new profession, because you obviously have no taste and can't decipher between quality filmmaking and lame 3D. :D
You guys are probably them same ones who spend all day trying to make a digital girfriend with huge boobs and think Final Fantasy and UT2004 are the only good products out there. :D

somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Les Incroyables better translates to the The Unbelievables. In that sence it is a weird translation to say Les Incroyables. The frence translations tomovies is weird sometimes. FInding Nemo was called the la monde de Nemo which translates to THe world of Nemo. My french is bad but I think they could have at least called it chercher pour nemo which is searching for nemo. Anyway, I'm californian living in Paris, so what do I know?:p

Nope dude, Les Incroyables also translates to The Incredibles (although the verb croire means to believe). But Les Indestructibles sounds better than Les Incroyables, in french.
Searching For Nemo would translate to A la Recherche de Nemo. Which would have been more logical than Le Monde de Nemo... go figure.
But you can't traduce Finding Nemo literally. It would give you Trouvant Nemo which is just horrible. ;)
But you're right, french translations are often weird, though justified(sometimes).
Monsters Inc. ----> Monstres et Co.
A Bug's Life -----> 1001 pattes

We french never say "chercher pour nemo", maybe "chercher Nemo" but I think the most similar would be "A la recherche de Nemo". But it gives a sense of adventure, like many other movies beginning with "A la recherche de " so I don't think it does really connect with the aim of the movie when you make a first idea of it by reading the title. So "Le Monde de Nemo", the world of nemo, from my point of view speaks better to a family and children. The target is more linked to that kind of title.
I don't think i am really clear, it's always hard to express senses which are different from a language to another...

Apart from a few exceptions,French translations generally suffer from poor titles renaming, bad jokes translation and very bad acting.
I'm French and I much prefer Enlgish versions especially that most of the French translations avaialable on the market are made for France so you get so really weird(for a canadian) talk.

My girlfriend is french, and she would agree with you 100 percent. You know whats strange also, she never watches french movies and never laughs at french jokes. I don't know why.
