I have made a plane in Lightwave 7.0. I havent been doing this for very long, but i'va accomplished a few tuts and so on.
It's a really good plane i liked:)
I started with a small disc, and beveled the body, extruded tail and wings and other stuff. this is basicly how i made it.
After a while I noticed that i could only see the inside of the plane (perspective, textured), I could not see the texture heading against my viewangle on the outside of the plane.

I overlooked the problem, and named surfaces using q, textured, and rendered using the layout. The plane got all weird, and i thing it was the same problem, textures occured on the inside, not the outside, and the outside got 100% transparent

Sorry for my english:blush:

It sounds like your normals are all out of whack. Select all offending polygons and hit "f", which will flip the polygon's normals . . .

hope that helps . . .

Peace.
