Hi,

I was doing a project in Maya, and the object was not complex. But it delay a lot for moving the vertexes and faces... And for projection of maps then.... Planar projection!!!! Is very slow!! :thumbsdow :thumbsdow

I try to move the points (laltices ?!) of the projection but he is slow a lot !!! afff... some thing should be wrong!

In the other programs (3ds max, lightwave), this operation is instant.... Why at maya is slow???

My system is a Pentium IV 1.5 with 640 mb of RAM and a Geforce2 with 64mb... Windows 2000 Pro w/ sp2 or 3.. (I don't remember)

It is not possible that I need an octane 2 for work in Maya !!!!

What can be ?? Is Maya slow ?? Or is some configuration ???

Try delete history, it worked for me, it took about 1 or 2 secounds to select vertices wile modeling, deleted history.. and back to normal instante select, history can make things slow some time but be careful deleting it. im sure is that, cose maya is NOT slow.
if u dont know is Edit > Delete by Type > Hystory , to delete the istory of the selected
or Edit > Delete All by Type > hystory , to delet the history of All

Will it be that I made something in that project that left slowing? Does that happen?

Acho isso estranho. Será que eu fiz alguma coisa neste projeto que o deixou lento? Isso pode acontecer??

Perhaps the problem has something to do with 'gaming' info on the file. Maybe go into the Hypergraph and look through all the nodes and see what you don't need and delete it...

mas é da historia?, isso as vezes so de ficar a modelar vao acomulando e fica lento.. acho que e normal, outra coisa que podes fazer é optimizar a cena file > optimize, acho k e isso.. que apagate o que tiveres vaziu... bem espero que tenha ajudado:/

Get a new graphics card.....it makes a difference tottaly i went from a gefroce 2 to a geforce 3 and it literally made everything un way better....

and u can even get a geforce 4 for like 200 bux now... a good one

www.newegg.com gainward geforce 4's are good
