Hello ewerybody,
this is my first WIP thread, and my first little bigger project in 3D Studio MAX. Work is almost done, but I need your opinion about scene setup (dont't have any idea, this is just for test purposes :), materials and bad modelling issues, dont have much reference pictures

First image is newer, fixed big HDRI reflection on hood and little more light on scene!
dont have time now to do it again with ground, but update is comming soon!

Wire and lambert on

Hope you like it, waiting your tips
Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for my bad english, this is the way to improve it :)

man, this is really good for testing purposes. I wonder why u haven't got any replies yet :\
This is the best viper ive seen on cgtalk by far. Make the shadows darker though.
There is another viper here and that thread gets a lot of replies, but the viper there is not as good as urs, and the owner of the thread doesn't post sh*t. How can you explain this? Sometimes people do ugly cars and get lots of replies, while people who work hard get disappointed seeing "0" replies. Nice car, bro. Keep working. Amazing wheels by the way.

I agree,a nice car.
one critiques, there are some problem of the reflection of the engine cover,I think a hdri maps can improve it.
keep going man~~

great job! I like the lamberts more than the actual textured version because the lighting looks better.

the modeling is great no crits here

Maybe work on the shaders a bit and fine tune the lighting, at the moment i think it looks a little garish in colour and a bit plastic.

download the free version of brazil and you may get better results

Hello everybody, thanks for your time!

Shaddix, thanks man, that meens a lot to me! Dont know about the number of posts, for now this is totaly ok.

I have a lot of things to improve, like car material, lightning, remodelling front little vertical spoiler etc... Well, at the first sight, this can be looking comming at the and, but for me modelling is just time consuming bud most interesting part, so meny things are comming after that. This is the reason why I need your opinions and tips, I'm relatively new to MAX and 3D programs.

Redwing: well, as you can see in my first post, this is just bad HDRI reflection, I rotate HDRI map 180 degrees and it's gone, as you can see in the first picture. I will do the renderings again, first have to little improve the car material!

Dudders: thanks, I'm trying with diferent lightning setups but with so different results :( That lambert scene is created so while ago, and it was done with no HDRI so I have to readjust all again

Updates comming soon, have to try with brazil car material, see you soon!!!

Thanks,
Igor

the modeling looks alright, but the materials/lighting/render seem to need some work. one, the reflectivity problem you kinda fixed (it was too intense before) but it doesnt look like you have any fresnel effect going on, and the shadow is too light...it looks like its floating on that ground.

also, your mix between software lighting and HDRI reflections looks weird, you might as well suffer the longer render times and use the HDRI image as a light source.

I dunno, the presentation isnt too good but the modeling looks pertty cool.

Thanks for support, I-NURB. It really helps a lot.
I like your Viper. You`ve done great work there. I`m not so good like you to cars modelling.
Right now I`m very busy to finish my MachineFlash 3D Challange, bur I`ll be back when all will be finished.
Once again, thanks a lot.
Happy rendering man !!!
