View Full Version : The Clone Wars Micro-Series Continues
RobertoOrtiz 06-09-2004, 02:26 PM QUOTE:
"Following the immense success of the first 20 chapters of the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Cartoon Network will continue the saga with five new expanded chapters beginning March 21, 2005.
Once again helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky, Star Wars: Clone Wars continues where Chapter 20 left off, but in a new format. Whereas previous installments were just three minutes long, each new chapter will be 12 minutes, promising viewers four times the excitement, adventures and intrigue as they lead into the long-awaited finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III.
Tartakovsky, the talent behind the critically acclaimed Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory, will return as director, co-screenwriter and executive producer of the new Star Wars: Clone Wars animated mini-series. Cartoon Network will air the new chapters from March 21 to March 25 with limited commercial interruptions. These new installments are planned to appear online to members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club. "

I hope the Star Wars universe continues after the movies in different forms of media has it already has in the past. Allowing various artists/directors to step it and have their take on the SW universe is always a good thing. Hope to see more!

hehe, I hope you are not reffering to the holiday special that was made around the time of the origonal movies (staring the origonal cast!). A friend of mine showed me the intro, trust me it was bad, there is no need for another one of those. (I heard Goerge Lucas personaly destroyed the negative, yes, it was that bad,......)
It started off somewhat like a soap opera introducing the characters one by one with a voice over, "introducing chewbaccas family, '(acresses name)' as chewbacca's mom, ......'---' as chewbaccas sister......"
Its good for a laugh if you can track it down.
edit: ooops, my grammer

you mean the same holiday special that was made back in the 70's with equally cheesy lines as episode 4?
don't worry, Clone Wars cartoon and Knights of the Old Republic shows the Star Wars galaxies is in good hands for a good time to come.

I remember watching that when it came out, I recall Boba Fett was riding a giant duck monster and carrying some sort of taser rod through this planet of pink ooze.
Star Wars held my respect for nearly 25 years ... until just a few years ago when I realized the magic is gone and it's not coming back. Whatever Lucas conjures up for Episode III, it won't make me feel like I did the first time I saw the Millenium Falcon navigate an asteroid field.

Re: AIPh Pretzel.
Y'know, a funny thing happened to me at work this week - a chap who had left for retirement decided to don his uniform once again...is this a coincendence or what?
As for Episode III - it WILL make you feel like a kid when you see Anakin's new hair-do! Do the names "Apollo" or "Starbuck" belong in your cherished childhood dreams( or nightmares...)?
edit: I forgot to comment on these fantastic episodes! I've only been able to download the first chapter of the first series...if thats anything to go by - bring'em on!:D

What can I say about that? Sometimes us dinosaurs like to get reinvolved.
Not to derail, but do we have a Battlestar Galactica thread around here? :)

I would prefer this to be done more in the WB style rather than this pinched Hercules style...

Don't blame that on Lucas. He can't make you young again. You've become old and cynical. That's why you'll never feel that way again.
As far as I'm concerned, the original Star Wars trilogy is as great as it ever was. I enjoy it just as much now as I did when I was a kid, if not even more.

I can still enjoy the original three films, it's the new stuff that I'm referring to.

I thought you meant you couldn't enjoy the originals anymore. Either way, there's a lot that I like about the new movies, and some I don't like. Although having to live up to the originals and the ridiculously overinflated expectations of the most hard to please and selfish fanbase in all of moviedom, is nigh an impossible task.

Most people enjoy the original films and expect too much from the new one's. when I show the old star wars movies to new people who have never seen them they easily admit its an ok movie but they dont understand the hype and all. its a matter of time and when u saw them. todays generation can't appreciate that as much as those who saw SW teh first time in 1977.
The new movies can't be better or equal to the originals based on the time span involved. We know the conclusion the Rebels defeat the Empire and Vader is redeemed.
Ask yourself aside from maybe "LOTR" when was the last movie u saw that actually blew u away?
SW still has clout and pull and its still a american icon even now. When news emerged of the Clone Wars cartoon series being continued all the major network gave it buzz.
Its a force forever to be reckoned with.

Yes, I have to agree that all this "Lucas has stolen my childhood" is just apart of an age-perception.
I thought the animated "The Hobbit" was intense when I was young. Watching it now, well, it isnt an intense experience. One's memories can be altered by time as well as growing older.
I think the new movies, while not having the immediate likeable characters, are just as good as the old films and they were all meant to be one long story. And it is working on that level (however I think us fanboys would rather EP1 and EP2f been condensed into just one film, with the next 2 being more of the clone wars.).

Definitely! Having the clone wars spread across episode 2/3 would have been a sweet thing to do.
At any rate, cant wait until the Clone Wars 2 gets out! Yay!
