Escher would be proud....
... and I didn't need a trailer to make me excited about the Call of Duty title. ;) Would be a dream to work in such a club.

I can't stand it sometimes when they take in game models and render them with all these effects and loads of textures, Anti-Aliasing, and motion blur, then conclude with 'Coming soon to Playstation' or 'The best console game EVER!'. I mean come on, I know it's cheaper than making an FMV with higher res models, but I feel like to a lot of kids out there it's making it look like the game engine supports all that; like those are videos of gameplay. Someone needs t put a bill before congress requiring them to put a caption at the bottom 'not actual gameplay', when studios use this techniqe, a few in the past have voluntarily, heh.
It looked great though, but I remember when blur caught heat for animating the Xbox robot thing, at least they kept the polys under the xbox theoretical lvl (it didnt exist) and used the same MB of textures the xbox was set to have.

Call of duty.. gotta love it

If it sells it, it's good:beer:
But yesm that CoD trailer is quite yummy. A great thing Infinity Ward have done, starting out with a mod for Quake 3 and now (with this now game) a fully fledged franchise.

The Core Of Duty trailer linked above has Quicktime "prevent save" activated, stopping you saving it to your hard drive. I'm not sure why this has been activated, as the company that produced it has the same movie on their own website as a Quicktime movie that can be saved after you've downloaded it.

Beamtracer: That's wierd. I didn't put that in. Will check and reupload if necessary. There's no reason why it should be save protected, as all our other films are downloadable.
Opacity: I will look at the login again tonight. I still cannot figure out why some can't login - as the code is physically the same as what's being used on CGTalk for logging in.

Update
Beamtracer: I've uploaded two movies and you should not have copy protection issues on them now.
Opacity: As usual, working with you to fix the problem!

that last shot in the Nike ad almost made me weep . . . that, and the cancer kids cheering on Lance! One of the most poetic commercials I've ever seen

I believe I've managed to fix this now. It seems that your network environment wasn't liking the whole cookies thing, so I've created sessions that pass info through the URL's - which should all work now no matter what network environment you're in.
Let me know if there are any further problems.

Great work in all of those examples. I am jealous that so far I haven't been able to work on anything as polished and as ambitious as these fine pieces. However, I do have one slight criticism.
I feel that the animation in the call of duty opening shot is a bit lacking. I am glad to see that this shot was animated and not motion captured (being an animator myself I have a fundamental aversion to mocap.) My specific criticisms of the running animation centers around the two soldiers in the foreground carrying the rifles. Perhaps it is just the angle that the two foreground soldiers are shown at, but it reads very awkward, especially when the aim the rifle forward. The rifles seem to have no weight nor do they recoil. When the soldier raises his rifle to fire it seems especially awkward that he doesn't shoulder the butt of the gun or alter his gate in the least. Also I'm not convinced by how these two soldiers swing their arms so very little while running. I would exagerate this movement more as it is in background soldiers. Compare their running motion with the rifle bearing soldier that runs from the airplane bombs later on in the piece. His motion is very convincing.
In contrast, the soldier in the foxhole wincing from the explosion looks fantastic as does the motion when he raises and fires.
All said and done, a very exciting work.

In response to THX's comments on Call of Duty;
1st, learn to spell awful
2nd, if you have a valid critique... be so kind as to lay your educated opinion out there for all to read & discuss. Good creative & technical comments are always appreciated. For example, someone above noted the animation issues with Shot 01. They made some valid points. The animation was rushed, and changed from a 10-soldier animation to a 60-soldier double-length shot over the period of 2 days, at the hands of only 2 3D artists. A understandable excuse maybe… but, more importantly, it was still a justifiable, accurate, and respectful critique. Otherwise, take note from someone who has likely been in the industry far longer than you: flinging brash insults at others' work is about as intelligent as it is professional. It instantly kills any respect people might have for your thoughts, demeans the people that worked hard on the project, and clearly shows an extreme level of ignorance... ignorance of what goes into such work, what went into that particular work, what the parameters of the job were, how many people worked on it, what the client’s objectives were, etc. My point… your rudeness shows your ignorance. Grow up & make useful posts, don’t waste our reading time.

Seen COD trailer.. Looks nice.
The bullets seem really slow tho. Haven't fired any myself but comparing with Hollywood movies and with some logic, they might have to be faster. (esp. scene in where two tanks come near the camera., also, the the impact of the bullets to the ground is a bit strange, as if it hits mud in slow motion..
Anyway.I liked it..

truuuue!!!......thanx Leo.
I really enjoyed the videos! Call of Duty looks really cool. Great look to it. And I really like the style and music of the Audi and Nike videos. They hold a nice serenity in them. Nike almost had me crying there.
Again thanx.
