hey all,

I searched for this but didn't find anything that really answered my question. where do old little challenges go? once in a while I'll see on the front page a link to a mini-mini challenge, like speed modeling or very short term animation projects, hosted by any random mod. not the big official challenges or anything that I've seen in the challenges forums, but the tiny stuff that pops up every week or so. in my new house I have a very tenuous connection to the internet so I can only log on to see the front page once a week or so, and I miss things that are only up there for a day. I've never been able to find one of those challenges after it leaves the front page, and I'd like to be able to try them out for myself even if I'm not submitting. so if anyone can help me out to find where those threads go that would be great.

The speed modeling challenges have their own sub-forum under the modeling forum :)
And now the new sketch challenges have their own forum too, under the WIP forums.

The forum listings you see on the front page of CGTalk are just the main ones - a lot of them have sub-forums, but you need to actually go to each main one to see the sub ones.
For example, if you go to the Modeling Forum (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=25), you'll see the two modeling sub-forums listed at the top of the page, namely the Speed Modeling Session Forum (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=122) and the NURBS Modeling Forum (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=129).

CGTalk is a lot bigger than what initially meets the eye :)

And as for the rest of the cool artwork that gets plugged on the front page, the best of that gets added to the CGNetworks Gallery (http://www.cgnetworks.com/gallery/).

I thought I had checked these forums pretty thoroughly, but you're right, there is a lot to CGTalk. I guess I would have found what I was looking for eventually, but this does make things quicker. anyway, thanks leigh.
