Totally awe-inspiring.

The glow of light on the helmets, the beautiful but sorta-impossible lighting that somehow mixes the look of a screen from the real Star Wars with that of an instruction-manual illustration from 80's lego boxes... stunning. You're a goddamn genius for this one... for the palette alone! That moon!

PLEASE... render off a super high-res version of this! Something I can put on my desktop, spanned across two 1280 x 1024 monitors. I literally beg you.

The best 3D concept i've seen this year, man. I like it very much, the modeling of the soldiers is just perfect. I like the moon & planet fading in the distance. It's very difficult to do great images like this with these simple pieces.

10 over 10.

Omg that is now my new desktop :)

Btw, it just hit me that the moon/s are in the exact same position of both shots... should you not be able to see the moon in the second one, or if it is a different moon, should it be slightly different?

Thanks for the great artwork.

I couldn't resist collecting these Star Wars Legos. Two great things from childhood together at last.

You've recreated them prefectly IMO, right down to the paint on the troopers.

I'll add my congratulations to a fellow C4D-er. :)

I didn't get the second one , I was not scrolling completely to read your fecal exclamation on the bottom of the image. I thought he was trying to shoot something to his left with his body stance. After reading further, and heading back and read the "S***!" I realized and cracked me up. Then again, I always crack up when someone brings up discussion involving output.

My two thumbs way way up!  :applause:

Beautiful. Legos were literally one of the very first major 3D project for me 10 years ago or so, so this brings back great memories. I built TONS of pieces, and had 3D Studio Classic's units measured and set to allow for 'snapping' of the blocks, so then I'd merely pull from the 'bin' of blocks, and build virtually tons of lego models.

There's a quality to Lego that, at least for me, is very evocative. Maybe merely nostaliga, growing up with vast seas of blocks spread out on my bed, but nonetheless, well done and I never get tired of looking at renders.

Up some more buddy....looks fantastic.

HI,

that pic is soo cool, the only thing:

The reflektion on the "Beast" is a bit to clean, why U didn´t activate 20-30% dispersion in the reflektion channel of that material? I think that will give the picture the last 1 % to be perfect =)...

Oh, bsw. please give US a version for Apple CinemaDisplay (or other 16:9 Displays(1600x1024)) that would be nice =)...

Sweet!

As a kid i used to play with lego a whole bunch ,it's where alot of my inspiration for 3d comes from. You can do almost anything with it ,and especially with the mindstorms(robotics) sets ,it expands the vision even more so?!!

I think you really brought out the beuty and creative genius behind lego!

GOOD JOB!!

tried something similar not long ago. all in maya, it was a short animation for my final uni project.
it was a lego version of the "cops" tv show...

Hey, very creative! I've been playing with 3D legos for a while now, and your scenes are very well done!
As a couple other people have mentioned, a wireframe would be awesome. I'd love to see how you did their helmets, as that has been giving me some grief lately.
I just got that set with the cantina and dewbacks at the store the other day.
Again, well done!

I created two alternative desktops for 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 for my own use... I thought i could share them with you guys here.

I hope this is okay, otherwise tell me so.

Both pics are great - even separatelly. But together - makes absolutelly fantastic series :bounce:

Anyway - could you tell me, how do you get this nice, glowing highlights? Is this corrected in Photoshop or by internal C4d filter?
