Perhaps later on I'll put it in a scene.

I've never done an animation. Perhaps it's time to try it out, but I'm afraid I don't have a powerfull enough system (celeron 800, 384 MB RAM) for an animation. I wouldn't know where to start setting up an animation...

cool, nice style there!

I can't really see anything wrong with it, maybe the pistons on the upper legs look a bit too simple in comparison with those on the knees.
Anyway, it looks killer

the overall shape is too round and friendly ... actually i would preceive it to be a meaner version ... maybe more weapons or less of the round stuff comin out of it ...:hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Yes I agree. Perfect modelling and idea.
But I think to animate it will be very hard. Because you have to think about the piston`s movement, leg`s movement and a lot of detail`s movement seperately (this is common in robot animations).
If it is done professionally I think it will be a very precious and beautiful piece of animation. Don`t give up.!!!

Here are some details.

The model is made in Rhinoceros (nurbs-modelling) and then the model was exported to 3d studio format. In 3d studio r3 I made some simple raytrace materials which I aplied to the object. I'm good with modelling, but not with texturing so that's why it looks so simple. I rendered it in Brazil because of the nice skylight effect.

The concept was designed to get a high-tec manga/final fantasy look. So that's why it has this cute and toy-like look. I'm not a pro, I do this just for fun/hobby. I don't know anything about animation so the robot is now finished as it is. Perhaps I'll build a scene around it like a big hanger or I'll try to texture some parts with numbers and stuff.

Thanks for all the comments. :)

awsome model and render, maybe just a bit *too* clean. Can you post a wireframe ?
