View Full Version : How about some co-operative work?

Just a quick thought/suggestion.

If any one has any line work that they're not too precious about, why don't they post it here so people can download it and do paintovers? Might be an interesting exercise and it will also highlight how different people approach the same problems.

I'm going to have a dig through my hard drive and see if I can find something appropriate.

So if you have anything that might be suitable (provide a link to a large image if you can) then let's see it!

I managed to turn your good drawing into a lousy painting:rolleyes:

The destruction took about an hour, I belive, with my newly purchased wacom...

maybe u can change the background colour abit? something like "Batman dark side" feel in it?

IŽll maybe give it a try, but itŽs so much harder than this sketchy style.

If anybody else wants to try make a "neat" version out of this. Be my guest! It would be really fun to see what ou can do of it.

Thanks for sharing Psycho Ken, nice drawings, I'll do a colouring job today.
Im having trouble finding early versions of paintings before they're coloured, but here's a concept sketch for a Dragon type of thing I posted a while back. Feel free to take the design and give him a different pose of composition if you like. Sorry I don't have a larger version.

Ok, here's a quick paintover of your werewolf. I gave myself a deadline of 30 minutes for this, which is why it's so messy and inaccurate (sorry!).

To be honest, I like this fast style a lot Puddlefish.
It puts some speed, movement and tension in it. It's less "fixed" if you know what I mean.

I kinda like it with the eyes in shadow. I think it suggests a vacant conciousness, which is pretty apt for a werewolf. I think eyes give us something to relate to, and to remove them is to emphasise the unerring bloodlust of the creature, impossible to reason with.

In case you hadn't guessed, I'm a big fan of werewolves.

Nice work, I like that layerd look you have on that wolf. I did somthing like that on a paralaxing background a wile back.

I tried a different colouring technique, or rather a paintover, on Kens beast. But I got tired of it, after a couple of hours.... Too bad. Mybe IŽll finish it sometime.

Anyway, this was to be a more "neat" version. But htereŽs alot of work still to be done. Not even the parts that may look finished, are finished.

here we go:
