View Full Version : Avoid Triangulation when importing ??
amos_chid 07-20-2002, 05:52 PM I have a 3ds/obj model that have a quad polygon, but when i imported in max all became tris....
Is it possible to keep the polygon quad when importing a "3ds/obj" into 3ds max ???
so i don't need to turn the edge invisible manually..doing it on high polygon is such a pain in the a**

Max does not natively support the import and export of.obj files so presumably you are using some other programme or plug in to do this. If you are not already using it may I suggest Habware's free Obj2Max, Max2Obj.. import/export plugins. They give you options to import/export as tris, quads or ngons and to date I've found them very reliable.. which is just as well really as .3ds is an abomination. :)
