View Full Version : Environment: house
Hi,
This is my first attempt at an environment and at the same time at something semi-realistic. So, critique away !

I like the house and the tree in the backround.
I find it strange that the posters are all torn into pieces. At least one or two would still be complete...
The curtain-thing behind the window looks strange. Needs more folds...
The street's too empty. Some little plants, some debris ...even a dead mouse would do to make things look more interessting...

Aha, a reply,
Thanks for the comments, updating as we speak !
Here's an update

Yeah, much better. But the barrels and the wheel of the cart are too shiny.
Greetz, Ky.
They are indeed to shiny and clean, thanks again

The colors look a bit too saturated. It kinda feels more cartooney than realistic.
And here we have, another update (http://users.pandora.be/Wouttgh/Straat_WIP.jpg)

I think the composition lets this pic down more than anything else, If I were you I would pull out from the scene a little bit add a few more props to take the focus off the cart, desaturate the colours a little bit and work on the texturing and lighting some more..
