Ok, having a bit of trouble with the glow property in XSI 2.02
First, a description. I'm attempting to create a light bulb which would light on and off in accordance with the filament glowing.
Now first, I'm aware that if I use a transparent glass around the filament that the glow will not render, as glow is a post effect. This is why glows do not reflect. I'm know this. So, I'm just working with the filament at this stage. It is a circle that I extruded along a spiraling curve. So, now I have a surface object that I've applied a glow to. I turn off the noise so that the glow is uniform and adjust the intensity and distance.
So, it looks good upclose.... but when I pull back with the camera, I notice that the glow begins to flake out and finally stop working. As the camera moves away, the glow begins to drop off certain points of the filament until finally the glow vanishes and I'm left with a white colored object. I'm not sure what is going on here. I've done the 'go to simple object' path, and just applied a glow with the same settings to a sphere, and it works fine, even as the camera is moved very far away. So, I thought perhaps it was just the complicated (relative to a sphere) geometry, but even a small bit of the filament has the same glow problem.
Here are some pictures of what I'm encountering...
Glow Works Up Close

Now The glow begins to get flaky..

Now the glow isn't working at all...

Here is a sphere that is slightly behind and to the left of the filament and it still renders

Any ideas out there?
Thanks
